About

My photography is not just about creating photographs, but unique images that people can enjoy.  A good image can invoke an emotion, tell a story or just document a part of life, or all of the above.  The more I shoot, the more I want my images to encourage the viewer to explore the possible stories invoked by the image.  The title I give to an image is a clue to the story that I envisioned when I made the image and, hopefully, will encourage the viewer to imagine their own story.

My involvement in photography has been on and off for a good many years.  In the past, I’ve done some model portfolio work, photographed dancers, and jazz musicians in concert (including Dizzy Gillispie, Al Hirt, and Dave Brubeck) for the Rib Exchange.  Since I retired in 2013, I’ve been working on moving into landscape and fine art photography.

I’m also teaching photography classes for the Personal Enrichment program at the College of Lake County.  Check out the “Classes and Shows” page to see what’s happening.

I hope you enjoy the images presented on this site as much as I enjoyed making them.

Jeff.
